ILL FAQ

Is there a fee?
There is no charge for the use of LCCC InterLibrary loan services.  However, there are costs associated with the process of receiving materials from other institutions, such as labor, photo duplication, copyright compliance, and postage and handling.  Please only request materials you need.

How long will it take for my request to be processed?
When requesting an OhioLINK book, most materials will arrive at the LCCC Library within 3 to 5 working days.  However, if the requested item is on hold at the owning Library your request will be fulfilled when the item is available.  Generally, a request for an article will be processed within 24 hours and the requested material should arrive within 2 to 5 working days.  However, this time frame may vary.  Requests for ILL books from non-OhioLINK institutions will arrive in 1 to 2 weeks.

Can journal articles be delivered electronically?
Journal articles are delivered electronically unless you specify pickup at the Circulation Desk.  The article will be delivered to your LCCC student email account.  LCCC or University Partnership staff and faculty are also sent via email or staff and faculty may request office delivery.

Can I borrow textbooks through ILL?
Textbooks not held at the LCCC Library can be obtained through OhioLINK. OhioLINK books are checked out for three weeks and may be renewed four times if there are not holds for the book. You may also check the Ohio Textbook Portal which offers a selection of electronic textbooks and provides a savings of up to 50% off the price of print textbook or visit the About Textbooks and Course Reserves LibGuide

How will I know when my requested material arrives?
You will be contacted through your LCCC email account.  LCCC or University Partnership staff and faculty may request phone notification or office delivery.

Where do I pick up OhioLINK/ILL books?
You may  pick up your item(s) at the Circulation Desk located on the second floor of the Library.

What about OhioLINK/ILL fines?
OhioLINK overdue fines are $.50 per day.  Items thirty days overdue are $50.00.  Non-returned/damaged items are $125.00.

Copyright?
In accordance with U.S. Copyright laws, it is illegal for the LCCC Library to request several articles from the same journal in a calendar year.
