Distance Learning Library Services

Services for LCCC students not on the main campus.

Distance Learning Library Services are available to students and faculty at  the Learning Centers (Lorain Learning Center, Midpoint Campus Center, University Partnership Ridge Campus, Wellington Center), those taking Internet courses and College Credit Plus students.

You can access the library's resources for scholarly articles, eBooks, print books and more from the LCCC Library homepage.  To access these resources, you may have to log into them.  First, you will need to get a Library/ID card (see below).

LCCC Library/ID Card

All LCCC students and faculty must have a current LCCC Library/ID card to:

  • request library materials,
  • access the Research Databases,
  • use the Learning Center computer labs.

At the Learning Centers, arrange to have your photo taken with the Learning Center staff. You must provide a current schedule and proof of identification when requesting your initial LCCC Library/ID card. Your Library/ID card will be mailed to your residence. Every semester that you are a student at LCCC, you will need to update your card at the Learning Center.

If you are taking online classes only, please contact the Library Circulation Desk by email or phone (440-366-4026) to receive your initial card as well as to update each semester. Your LCCC Library/ID will be mailed to your residence.

If you are a CCP student, the library will work with your teacher to get an LCCC LIbrary/ID card to you.

Books. Complete the Distance Learners Book Request Form to borrow books from the LCCC Library Catalog. The item will be delivered to your residence via USPS with return instructions and a pre-paid postage envelope.

The item(s) will then be delivered to your residence via USPS with return instructions and pre-paid postage envelope.

Items can be renewed if no holds have been placed on them. Renewals can be made online at My Library Account or by phone with the Circulation Desk at 440-366-4026.

Articles. If you find an article in an LCCC database that is not available in full text, Interlibrary Loan can help! Journal articles are delivered electronically via your LCCC student email account. Generally, a request for an article will be processed within 24 hours and the requested material should arrive within 2 to 7 working days.

The Off-Campus Access Libguide provides further information/troubleshooting for off-site accessibility.
