ANSI University Outreach Program

"As the U.S. member body of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ANSI has been authorized to provide, upon request, complimentary access for students and faculty to selected standards currently available in the ISO collection.  Certain standards from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) may also be made available upon request. These collections are comprised of nearly 20,000 standards, which can be made available to U.S. faculty and students in all disciplines in institutions of higher learning throughout the United States."

-See more details about this program at

Important Note: Requests for standards are only accepted by FACULTY.

Faculty may distribute one copy per student for classroom use only.

1. Faculty must fill out a University Outreach Project enrollment form (attached below) complete with selected  ISO and IEC standards.

2. ANSI will then send out an e-mail to the faculty with next steps, including a license agreement for distribution of the free standards.

3. Faculty can then distribute the access to their students, including the licensing agreement.

4. Faculty participate in an evaluation of the pilot at the end of the term.
